The first days of happiness

February 26th, 2009

It 'the first time I read Erri De Luca novel ... a little, by throwing down a drink in itself, very smooth and full of vivid descriptions and clever.

A beautiful novel set in Naples after the second war ... after the bad publicity in Naples vanuta notes events of rubbish was refreshing to see this city with other eyes, another time.

Consigliatissimo!

Referendum ... I can not believe it!

February 26th, 2009

It seems that the government is seriously thinking of NOT merge the referendum all'election day, but to devote a day measure.

This means paying election commissions, hold open seats and handle all the logistics necessary for the modest sum of 200 (say even 400) million euros.

But if we go to the polls for the European and the administration, why not also vote on the referendum? Oh sure, it is convenient to many that the referendum fail for lack of quorum, rather than before about whether to vote yes or no.

If you really do not make the election day and they throw the taxpayers (us) 200 million (but even if they were half the problem does not change) euro, mi metto a far country to vote in the referendum even if only for spite!

With the crisis at the door a waste of this size is totally out of place!

I wish that someone explain to me the government (and justifying) the increased costs, without using the obvious excuse that they are afraid of losing the referendum. Whose Referendum supporters and opponents are among the other enough in cutting forces.

I hope that the Government rethinks us and make the election day!

Peter and the President of the Republic

February 4th, 2009

Today I listen to the recording site of the Courier of the words involved, after hearing the same Di Pietro complain that the press has manipulated his words to create a contrast with Napolitano.

Listen to the recording .. say that Di Pietro is right: the juice of the speech, almost obvious, except for our journalists (which show as always ... just as valid), and 'respectfully denies that al Quirinale controfrimato to have certain laws ( as the Lodo Alfano), saying that the dispute respecting the conduct of the President is the right thing to do because the silence and 'Mafioso, silence kills.

Simply says that even if disputes in a manner that respects the Quirinal, he does not feel to be quiet and to avoid criticism for not being silence.

You can 'share or not his thoughts, but it seems to me obvious that the Mafia is not Selenza' attributed to Napolitano but who is not agree with the choices of the Quirinale, where it is quiet.

And that we understand very clearly even though the art of oratory Di Pietro is one that is ...

Truly someone to this record feels that the silence that kills is to Napolitano?

No words ... delirium of omnipotence?

"The government has already done a lot. I remember that I was the first to tell the Italians that their savings would not be lost. Then he moved to Europe and I was convinced Bush and his staff, remained inert in front of the bankruptcy of Lehmann Brothers, to move and to allocate over 700 billion dollars. "

Guess who said these words?

I do not want to give him satisfaction with a long post: a movie is pointless ... as a nice idea, have a trivial and obvious film ... shame!

Malpensa, why does not work ...

January 28th, 2009

Ah, air home when you return to Malpensa.

Reading airport, which narrate the SEA have SLA (service level agreement, the minimum levels of service) for the arrival of the luggage which require that the first arrivals suitcase on the conveyor belt within 15 minutes of the plane.

Fantastic, one quarter of an hour and 'an acceptable time ... if we were not in Italy! Miracle: for each flight, the first luggage arrives between 10 and 14:45 seconds from landing, but then what? Saturday I spent 15 minutes between the first and second bag!

The usual taken around all'Italiana! Luggage arrives abroad together with the times that have: usually in a hurry, sometimes late, but do not do smart! I imagine the unloading of baggage running desperately with a suitcase to block the time within the first 15 minutes ... and others ... chissenefrega!

By making smart, Italy deserves to be left behind than the rest of Europe: we are all a race to who is more cunning. We should do a race to those who work better, instead, everything would be more beautiful!

Which trolley? The Japanese know ...

January 4th, 2009

After thousands of miles flown with Alitalia, I expected to be a good expert on travel, luggage and bags. In my travels I have moved all (no, do not bad!): To be a distributor of dog food to a remote KitchenAid mixer for Paola (15kg iron ...).

Yet, until the trip to Japan, I had not yet received the lighting on the trolley. Until then, I preferred the classic trolley with two wheels, possibly large, like this:

trolley2

But then I noticed that in Japan 99% of the trolley were used by Japanese to four wheels, like this:

trolley4

And many Japanese could not make mistakes: it is extremely difficult not to carry around, very maneggievole and is ideal for especially for the larger trolley that can be really heavy!

In short: the two-wheeled trolley has passed, out, finished with confidence ... buy a trolley with 4 wheels and you will not regret it!

Women and power ...

October 7th, 2008

As usual, we talk a lot of Islamic countries such as arrears of seats, almost tribal ... the thing that you think first is the lack of freedom women always covered their heads, always accompanied and controlled by relatives. Reminds us how it should be treated the women in some parts of Italy the last century.

And in fact often in these countries is embarrassing to talk to a woman, you never know if you can give her his hand, or even speak or look in the face. Remains there as a fish boiled waiting for his first move so that you do figuracce.

These days in Kuwait to work in a large company the IT Security Manager and 'a woman (with a veil, those who do not give my hand) very competent and respected. I also met with his boss who is also a woman (without veil and to be given hand) ...

In Italy I think I may have encountered a woman in a similar position but with much less power.

This research in the Financial Times confirms this impression: in Kuwait the presence of women on boards of directors is 2.7% ... in Italy we are at 2%: I believe that we are in a position really shameful!

Every time I think to criticize other cultures and other countries, we also think that on some issues from the comparison does not go out very well!

Alitalia, mon amour ...

September 25th, 2008

The story Alitalia, now the conclusion, triggers feelings in me: for the scandalous obstinacy of certain categories of its employees in defending their privileges, I would like the point and fails Alitalia enough. I feel sorry for the many who have no privileges, and it 'true that waive the privilege is never easy. But given that there are millions of people who pay the privileges of a few, I feel entitled to rallegrami though, because it attempts to defend the indefensible, Alitalia fails.

Then I think of so many ordinary employees, the need that we have to move, to my Millemiglia points and now I hope that in the rescue.

Then I think of the CAI: you only buy the good company with no debt, with more cuts than the AirFrance and obtaining virtually all free. Nearly bankrupt ... I prefer the solution AirFrance not cost anything to the people, but now I have to pay Alitalia's debt for a consetire Passera and Colaninno to do some 'other money.

We accept bets that just passes the time limit agreed Alitalia will be sold to foreign partner (AirFrance?), Cut, and recovered with a rich prize for the CAI. Without anyone to return the money to the Italians that will cost us the bad company and super redundancy for Alitalia employees, who still do not understand why you need a different treatment from that of many workers and employees who have the misfortune of being involved in a failure.

I would say go anyway, with Alitalia, I lost. I hope I can at least console if the points will count MilleMiglia something in the coming months.

Security and airports

September 25th, 2008

Every country has its own model of airport security.

Of course the Italians are the most relaxed: the beauty with dentifiricio, perfume etc, can stay in your hand luggage because none is a problem: even the scissors go in fluency, as well as screwdrivers for the computer that sometimes I forget to remove. Is hardly ever necessary to remove the PC from the bag or remove the belt. In short, skip the security in Italy is as it should be, a slow but peaceful.

In London are pscisopatici, and typically also very rude.

In the U.S., a Oltra lascriati always barefoot (and put your shoes where you are putting the coat ... viva la pulizia! But have you ever noticed that in American films are still on the bed with the shoes?), Even entering the country is complicated applications, fingerprints, photos.

In Qatar, are also X-rays of luggage sent after you have withdrawn, before leaving the airport! Look at what they declared, because they see everything!

In Japan, take fingerprints, but with great efficiency and courtesy.

Strangely in Israel, in Tel Aviv, will not ask you anything: a distracted stamp on the passport and go! Perhaps unaware of the level of security controls to Malpensa! Outbox instead questions about questions, check all hand luggage emptying the bag and checking every single thing. And for the most fortunate and a more thorough search, I have not had the honor of trying.

Rather, both stressed that in some places and not in others, it would be much safer and convenient for everyone if they will agree on a minimum standard, truly shared by all!

In Israel have also complained that the passport photo was too dark and wanted to see another document, notwithstanding that U.S., Japan, UAE, Qatar and the UK had not had problems with my pictures!

They should remember that the security level is always determined dall'anello weaker, not stronger than that!
